Running backwards and the animation playing forwards is weird, you should either ignore the mouse causing the player to be flipped when the player is walking (which is probably not the point now that I think about it lol) or play the animation backwards.
Overall, I love the general art direction and the game itself

I'm having a hard time understanding the combat system, it seems that whatever key I press both of my characters attack. Pixel art is good, music is good.

The basic attack is automatic and constant. Choosing skills and when to use them is key to the game. You have to take a little more time to think and learn. Combat may be too fast, and I may need to increase the cooldown of skills. If you have any suggestions, I'd be very happy.

It isn't bad (especially not for a first game) but you should explain what I am supposed to do BEFORE I play, not after I die. The pictures are helpful yes but there is no way I could've known stuff like the big flower is a safe zone. Music throughout would also help a lot
